According to Nestle, "The food movement's goal is to make the food system healthier for people and the planet. That goal is entirely consistent with the goals of everyone in the Occupy Wall Street movement." Concerns that corporations have profited from poisoning our food supply, monopolizing farming practices and torturing animals are all clearly outlined in the first official statement released by Occupy Wall St.
Over the past several decades, our food has changed more than any other time in history. Large corporate agriculture businesses have crushed traditional family farms into near extinction with the help of our government that has been heavily influenced by Big Food industry lobbyists.
