Artemis in the City's health practitioners have many years of formal education, training and clinical residency in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. We were the very first health practice in East Texas to provide highly trained functional medicine practitioners and services. Our training in functional medicine is extremely comprehensive and was obtained through accredited university education degree programs.
What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine is a holistic approach in which health practitioners are trained to utilize a systems-oriented scientific approach to assess patients. Functional Medicine is firmly rooted in biochemistry and physiology.
Here at Artemis in the City, we utilize clinical diagnostic laboratory testing and cutting-edge functional diagnostic laboratory testing that was specifically developed to assess biochemical pathways in order to help identify health problems that can relate to genetic makeup, nutrition deficiencies, environmental toxins, pathogens and lifestyle. Most importantly, we spend time conducting in-depth health histories with our patients so that we can more fully understand their health issues and potential triggers. Functional foods and supplements are then recommended as nutrition therapies along with lifestyle changes to help restore proper body functioning.
